Our featured artist this fortnight is Ann Walker, one of our ceramicists at the gallery.
'My work largely consists of functional wheel thrown pots, made from stoneware or porcelain clays. These are then decorated with slips, resists and glazes to give softly textured surfaces. The decoration is often inspired by the natural world, incorporating plant forms or stylised insects and birds.
I'm always excited by new challenges and techniques; so I rarely make the same pot twice, preferring to move onto the next variation or idea.'
