DISTILLATION

Extracting the essence of landscape

1 – 9 November

Open every day 10-4pm

This exhibition features the work of two of our artists whose work is very much about their responses to the landscape.

AUDREY IMBER
The inspiration for the work in this exhibition comes from the landscape, whether it is the awesome grand vista or a tiny, close -up landscape of a section of hedgerow. The landscape to me, is more than just scenery- it is made up of history, layers of geology, seasons and weather and has a huge effect on our mood, senses and emotions.

As an “outdoor person’, I like nothing better than and walk or wander in our fabulous landscape, be it wood, hills, beaches or wide-open spaces. The work in this exhibition is rooted very firmly in the location…places I have walked in, camped

in or sailed on; some quite abstract but still, I hope, evoke an idea of colour, movement and structure.

VICTORIA JOHNS
My work explores the landscape from above, where organic and man-made patterns often meet and overlap.
From my aerial perspective, rivers, forests and geological formations merge against humanity’s grid like order.

From above, the land reveals a dialogue between nature’s fluid patterns and humanity’s structured designs.

I create aerial-inspired works that blend organic forms with human-made shapes and patterns. My artwork often explores how these shared landscapes can offer unexpected visual rhythms, fluid irregular forms sitting alongside angular

and urban structures.

We would like to invite you to a ‘bit of a do’ with wine and nibbles on Saturday 1
November, 5-7pm.

Opening Hours
Mon–Fri: 10am – 4pm
Sat: 10am – 5pm
Sun: 11am – 4pm

13 – 21 September at The Wynd Gallery

We are delighted to present 2 Worlds, One Show – a vibrant joint exhibition by artists Squorn and May Cheung Grant.  This special event celebrates contrast, creativity, and artistic freedom.

Two Artists, Two Approaches
This exhibition brings together two strikingly different yet beautifully complementary styles of art:

  • Squorn: detailed, emotional realism, capturing the beauty, character, and spirit of animals in a way that feels alive and relatable. Alongside these works, visitors will also meet Skelly – Squorn’s poignant skeleton character, a figure both tender and haunting, searching for joy in the everyday.

  • May Cheung Grant: bold, colourful abstraction, alive with energy, texture, and expressive freedom.

Side by side, their work creates a dynamic dialogue between realism and abstraction, emotion and energy, structure and spontaneity. Visitors are invited to explore how art can speak in many voices while finding harmony in a shared space.

Special Open Day
Join us for our Open Day on Saturday 13 September, 10am – 6pm.
A wonderful opportunity to meet the artists, experience the work in person, and celebrate creativity in a welcoming atmosphere.

REVOLUTIONS

July 25th – August 3rd

The Wynd Gallery, Letchworth

Martin Langston & Nade Simmons

Revolutions is an exhibition about movement, change, and the cycles we all experience — in nature, in society, and in ourselves. It brings together two distinct artists whose work reflects different, but deeply connected, creative journeys.

REVOLUTIONS.jpg

Martin Langston is known for his bold, colourful work using spray paint, tin cans, and found materials. His pieces breathe new life into discarded objects, blending humour, nostalgia, and a love of music. His work is instantly recognisable and always full of character.

Nade Simmons presents a new collection developed during her 100-day creative project. Her style has shifted into larger-scale, expressive floral pieces — vibrant, energetic, and filled with feeling. These works reflect growth, transformation, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Together, their work explores beginnings and endings, renewal, and the moments in between.

We’d love you to join us at The Wynd Gallery, Letchworth, from July 25th to August 3rd.

Come and see what’s turning.
