VICTORIA JOHNS

Victoria is a contemporary visual artist, her practice as an abstract painter and printmaker, sees her mark making with a mix of mediums.  She focuses on new ways of seeing the world around her and is drawn to aerial views, flattening out our 3D world allows her to study scale, space, shape, colour, pattern and texture. However, some of her more recent work is created with her feet firmly on the ground, offering a new perspective to explore and study the landscape in front of her.

 

“As an abstract artist I don’t wish to convey a recognisable landscape scene, I’m intrigued with dismantling the landscape into single elements I enjoy, whilst trying to convey a sense of place, I try to immerse myself in that moment to document what I see and hear.”
