DEBBIE ARMSTRONG
JEWELLERY
A good friend once told me that every piece of jewellery I make has a story behind it. From a commission to be given as a unique gift, to the jewellery I cast from items found on my travels. Each piece is handmade, individual and has its own story.
I began studying silversmithing six years ago, and regularly attend courses to learn more advanced techniques such as casting and wax carving. I draw inspiration from the natural world and travel, and frequently acquire new materials, skills and ideas from places I have visited and people I have met.
As well as making, I also run silversmithing workshops at The Makers’ Cabin in Letchworth and Shedcraft in London. Over the past couple of years, we have made rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings, textured jewellery and wax carved rings. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of silversmithing with anyone interested in making silver jewellery, and seeing the satisfaction they get from making their own pieces.
