SANDY ANDREWS

Over the years I have worked in interior design,  including painting murals & decorative paint effects, designed greetings cards and promotional material for various businesses and generally enjoyed the creative process, whatever the medium.  More recently I have been able to concentrate on painting in my garden studio in St Albans, taking part in many exhibitions all over Hertfordshire, including Herts Visual Arts annual Open Studios events.

Whilst still doing the occasional painting, and regular life drawing,  I have also fallen in love with making papier mache models.   I love the challenge of creating all kinds of different subjects, whether ‘stylish’ ornaments or just plain quirky or cute ‘objets’.   It is endlessly exciting to me to be able to create armatures from wire, cardboard, paper and paste, etc.,  that will eventually evolve to become solid, individual and unusual pieces of  3D art.
